A PPHP reader is looking for Glenn Miller images as below – if you have these or know where we can look please email will@pressphotohistory – thanks !
Dear Mr. Carleton,
One of the most anticipated cultural events in Hollywood during the World War II era took place on April 15,1942 at the famed Hollywood Palladium.
That night, Sonny Dunham and orchestra, the Andrews Sisters and Glenn Miller and band entertained over 7,300 patrons for a California Guard Hospital benefit. It was packed with Hollywood stars also.
Would you suggest possible photo archive repositories I could contact in hopes there may be some photographs of this event?
Might there be a specific contact for Getty Images as I understand they hold the ‘Hollywood Reporter’ archive now?
Thank you.
I am a Glenn Miller researcher and I’m sure it was heavily photographed…especially by many of those Hollywood fan magazine publication entities.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
G Mittler.
