Press Agency Index : First Phase Underway 1899 – 1914

We are under way with compiling the early part of the press agency index list. This part of the project is being coordinated by John Balean from photo library Topfoto. John is charged with producing a comprehensive list titled ‘Where Are They Now’ which will show current owners of editorial press image collections starting with the very first agency, World’s Graphic Press est 1899. John was at the British Library this week assessing the research project.
The early part of the list research has been sponsored by Mr David Jacobs, owner of the IMvest Group which owns photo agencies Idols and LFI.
